Watch “Way Over Yonder In The Minor Key – Billy Bragg & Wilco” on YouTube

Cool album. A Wilco and Billy Bragg joint collaboration of some old-timey songs.

Natalie Merchant’s vocals (formerly of 10,000 Maniacs and with solo work to her credit) sit beautifully in the mix.

  1. Listening to it now on Spotify. YouTube sucks because Australia sucks lol
Ain’t no body that can sing like me… nice. I like it! I’ve saved it to a playlist of mine. I called it wintoke34. LOL random songs I’ve been recommended over the year. Thanks for the song!

  2. writtencasey. i never had been much of a bragg fan – despite his west country roots – or even ol’ woody guthrie. But a big lover of wilco, who get fair airplay at nickreeves mansions.

    1. Thank you for your time and comments nickreeves.
While I do have much love for both Billy Bragg as well as Wilco, I share your opinions re the Guthrie boys and that aesthetic. This may be why I did not enjoy these volumes of covers as a whole. To be candid there is one song that is completely insufferable to my silly ears.

This particular song though? Magical. Singing in the minor key. This is musician talk us grunts never experience. This song teaches.
Cheers to what 2019 has in store for you. I’m sure it will be only good things.
