Before sound, there was vibration
with no auricular structure to perceive it.
Before these trinities came dualities.
Before syncretism came juxtaposition.
Before leverage moved mountains
and swept us off our feet,
the mechanical principle
existed unnamed.
All awaiting discovery
in this hollow solidity.
